The Caribbean wouldn’t be the Caribbean if it didn’t have some of the most beautiful water in the world. And the Outrigger house in St. Thomas is one of the best places on island to enjoy the water.
Not playing in it mind you, just gazing at it. Feeling the gusts of wind off the water and watching the waves and sea’s motion.
Sitting high above the historic downtown Charlotte Amalie, with views of Water Island and Hassel Island, you can really take in the scope and vastness of the Caribbean Sea.
The Outrigger House is a unique wedding venue. Very few villas of this size and luxury exist on the South Shore of St. Thomas.
I was at a wedding here recently. As the sunset over the islands of Puerto Rico, the lights of the town below began to flicker below. As the moon began to dominate the sky, it illuminated the harbour in a stunning, soft white.
The small wedding party of about 20 just stood at the overlook and enjoyed the cool breezes and the beauty below. Even as food was served and the steel pan player drummed a cheerful Bob Marley song, all of the guests were transfixed by the wonder of it all.
Every wedding has its own feel and energy. Drawn from the setting, the location and the people. If you want to have a wedding where the venue isn’t just a prop, but is actually a participant in your day, the Outrigger House is a welcome guest.
The open design means you never feel cramped. Each room flows easily into the next. 4 Master Suites means no one has to draw straws for the “junior” suite.
Bedrooms
All of the 4 Master Suites are pretty ridiculous.
Each has a king-size bed. A wall-mounted air-conditioning unit. Wall-mounted TV. But, that’s not all! You also get:

Living Room & Family Room
A huge gathering space or great place to relax. The living room has huge vaulted ceilings. A Bose sound system with a docking station
Kitchen
Whether you are inviting 50 family members for a blowout wedding and reception, or a few close friends for an intimate wedding party the kitchen can accommodate anything you throw at it. A mammoth Viking stove and oven and every other appliance is stocked in the the kitchen. A personal favorite is the espresso coffee maker.
Dining Room
The dining room can seat 8 people. For larger groups, parties and wedding receptions there is a 75 ft. long veranda.
Villa Amenities and Activities
A phenomenally large terrace and picnic area awaits your wedding and outdoor reception. A Weber grill graces the picnic area for casual grilling out or for a catered Bbq…all while surrounded by majestic bamboo and an orchid and hibiscus landscape.
Wifi is accessible throughout the property and the house sound system is able to stream music to keep the wedding party in full swing.
A common occurrence on the island is the loss of power. Island living does have a few drawbacks. But the Outrigger House is equipped with a generator so an electrical outage won’t stop the carnival!

The villa is centrally located, so you will have easy access to downtown shopping an attractions and one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Magens Bay.
